BRAD MARTIN "BOMB'S AWAY"
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (August 19, 2002) -- Brad Martin, country's newest and hottest hit-maker, is enjoying nods and applause from country radio programmers and listeners across the nation. Over last several months (and in the months upcoming), Brad has participated in a non-stop radio promotion tour scheduled in support of his current single "Before I Knew Better," and his debut album under the Epic Records logo Wings of a Honky Tonk Angel (as released in mid-June). ...And he's making a b-i-g s p l a s h!

Brad recently performed at the Indianapolis State Fair opening for RCA's Kenny Chesney. The State Fair offered an array of amusements and Brad was ready for some fun. After his performance, it just so happened he stumbled upon a small inventory of water balloons. Feeling certain the warm water balloons should be used for their intended purpose, he came up with a prankster plan.

Brad had observed just moments earlier that one of his band members went into the men's rest room. Brad snuck into the latrine with balloons in hand and heaved them over the stall door to shower his crewmember. The angry screech from the other side, however, was not of a familiar voice. It was not that of his band member at all. Turned out, Brad's practical joke was squelched. The Rubbermaid water bomb never hit the intended target; it landed on one of Chesney's biggest and broadest roadies!

Brad's plans for the week include a demonstration for Country Weekly readers as to the preparation of his masterpiece barbecue specialty. He is scheduled to put on his chef's apron, fire up the grill, and with utensils in hand, he will prepare his famous "Bradley Burgers" and fiery hot chicken wings.

Brad's current single "Before I knew Better" is No. 15 on the R&R Charts and No. 19 on the Billboard Chart.

In a review of the single, Music Rowıs Robert K. Oermann writes "This has got it all! A chiming, ringing production, a beating-heart of a tenor performance, a melody that grabs you by the throat and a lyric thatıs smart and true. A Star is born!"

Billboard's Ray Waddell writes "Even amid a bumper crop of promising male country artists, Brad Martin is impressive. He's a honky-tonk belter with backbone, evoking whiskey and women with equal passion."
